Oraletta's Adventure

Being a member of the Family of God, which is both local and global; I would like to share specific issues about the adventure The Lord and I are on dealing with lung cancer. I want to do this so that those who are praying for me will be better informed.

My "New Adventure"

Hello Everyone,
As most of you know this time last year I was being treated for lung cancer. Truly God was faithful through it all.
In Feb. of 2007 I was told that I was in remission. So that means God has delivered me from breast cancer & lung cancer for His Purposes & Glory.

Well guess what HE has me doing now. I am once again "Nurse Oraletta". Yes that's right. I am doing home care nursing.
A couple weeks ago Roosevelt ( my husband) asked me if I would be willing to care for the gentleman that he works for in the mornings for about 3 hrs. 4days a week. Some weeks not even that much. He said the gentleman ( Hal is his name), was having surgery on his shoulder and did not want to go to a Nursing Home ( neither do I). Hal is 88yrs. old and has no family in Ohio. He has a 94yr. old sister in Fl., and she has had a stroke. Roosevelt said it would be a few days. I had my doubts about the time issue, but I said okay.

Well Dear Ones,
He had a rotator cuff done on his left shoulder. He is very weak and looses his balance when walking with his cane. He has a very hard time hearing. So here I am. Nurse Oraletta. The physical therapist has been here twice and the occupational therapist will be here on Monday. Roosevelt will take him to see his surgeon for the first time on Wed. (8/29). In the mean time I will be going to Cleveland Clinic to see my doctor. We will wait for a Social Worker to get things rolling and get help for him when he goes home. I've had to cancel almost all of my appointments this past week, because he cannot be left alone. I even missed taking Thomas (grandson) to Kent State on Wed. for his first year of College. "NOW THAT HURT".

Now I must say. I am so grateful that God would allow me to return some of the "GOOD CARE" that I received last year, to this dear old man who needs some loving care. He is not a believer so I hope God has "BIGGER PLANS" that nursing care. I hope God will allow the love of Jesus to show through me to this dear man. Please pray that God would SAVE HAL'S SOUL. Truly God can use us in so many ways.

Hal loves to watch the Indian games with Roosevelt. As a matter a fact he loves Roosevelt very much. They are real good Pals.

Pray for my physical strength as I care for him. Pray for my love & compassion. Pray that my attitude will be the same as that of Christ Jesus (Phil.2:5), and that my nursing skills will return. I've been retired for 12yrs.

Loving each of You,
Oraletta
