Being a member of the Family of God, which is both local and global; I would like to share specific issues about the adventure The Lord and I are on dealing with lung cancer. I want to do this so that those who are praying for me will be better informed.

Oraletta is Home

Hello Everyone,
I was admitted to CCF on Sept. 29 and discharged Oct.3rd. The week was long. The pleurx cath. was plugged, and had to be unclogged and drained. I am breathing much better, I will return your phone calls next week.

Thank you so much for your prayers and concern.

Oraletta's admission to CCF on Monday

Hello Everyone,
For the pass week Roosevelt and the doctor's were unable to drain my pleurx cath. Which makes it very difficult for me to breath.
So I am being admitted to Cleveland Clinic on Monday (Sept.) 29th. so that the doctor's can hopefully investigate the situation and get things straightened out. I had a chest x-ray on Friday Sept.26th. that gave them some idea of the problem. However, more info is needed for a more accurate plan of care.

I know I will be admitted on Monday ( Sept.) 29th. However I don't know how long I will be there. Once I get home I will fill you in on the details.

Prov. 3: 4-8

Thanking each of you for your prayers, and loving you with the Love of Jesus.

One More Update

Hello Everyone!
Today for the first time the Home Care Nurse came to our home. She did a little more assessment, and then she drained the pleurx cath. She took out 1200 cc of fluid. Of course she taught me and Roosevelt. Breathing is always better when fluid is removed from around the right lung.
She plans to come back on Thurs., and we will see how things go.

So continue to pray that the Traceva will do it's job in attacking the cancer cells of the right lung and hopefully killing them off.

Thanks to each of you for your prayers, your love and "ALL" that you do for me & Roosevelt.

Update

Hello Loved Ones,

On Aug.8th. I had a pleurx cath inserted into the right side if my chest. This cath. will be used to drain any excess fluid from the chest should I have a build up of fluid.

On Aug. 13th. I went to the Clinic for an ultra Sound Of both legs which showed a significant amount of blood clots. So I was admitted to the hospital. It has been decided that I am NOT allergic to heparin as soon of the blood test had showed in the past.

So now I am not taking the coumadin any more, but I am back on the Lovenot shots (twice a day). I came home on Friday, Aug. 15th. Things are going well. I don't like giving myself shots, but I will do what I have to do to get better.

The Home Care Nurse will be here on Monday to teach Roosevelt and myself how to care for the cath. I do not know at this point how long the cath. will stay in, nor do I know how long I will take the shots.

I will be going back to see the doctor next Friday (Aug 22). I'm sure I will have more info at that time. So until then my Dear Praying Friends, let,s keep praying for each other.

Loving you with the Love of Jesus.

Update

Hello Dear Ones,
On Friday, Aug.1st, I went to CCF to be checked by Dr. Davis for my breathing. It was really difficult for me to get the next breath. So he took out 1liter of fluid which gave me much relief. Now this coming Friday ( Aug.8th) I will go to the Clinic again, this time I will have a cath. placed in the chest cavity, it is called pleurx cath. I am scheduled to come home that same day.

At the present I do not know how long the cath. will be left in. It depends on how well it works and how well the fluid drains off. Maybe a couple months or more. I will keep you informed.

We have a PRAISE" in our family. Thomas the oldest Grandson had a car accident yesterday. A young man hit him so he was not responsible for the accident. THOMAS WAS NOT HURT. We give God all the Praise for shielding him from physical harm. We are also grateful that the young man that caused the accident was not hurt either.

Let's pray for our young people as they drive cars; that God would protect them and that they would stay focused on driving.

NOW THE NEXT BIG ISSUE IS : THEY HAVE NO CAR. BUT WE KNOW THAT GOD WILL PROVIDE.

Brief Update

Hello Everyone,
On July 11 I had fluid drawn from the chest cavity on the right side at the lung. This time it was a little harder than the first two times. I thought I would have a permanent tube put in at the site however, my doctor took out 1200 cc of fluid. My breathing is just beginning to get better.

My doctor wants to give the Tarceva medication a chance to work. I've only been taking it since June 6th. So we will give it another month. SO PLEASE CONTINUE TO PRAY THAT THE TARCEVA WILL SOON START KILLING THOSE CANCER CELLS AT THE LUNGS, AND THAT THE FLUID WILL DRY UP.

Loving each of you with the LOVE OF JESUS.

Update

Hello Dear Loved One & Praying Partners,
Ps. 27: 14 tells us to "Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."

I also find myself waiting for the Dr.' and the various reports. On May 30th. I had a chest x-ray that showed fluid around the right lung. I had been having some difficulty breathing. So once the doctor saw the x-ray he thought it best to remove some fluid from around the right lung. It did not take long at all before I could breath better.

However, a few days later my "New Doctor" ( Dr. Davis), called to see how I was doing and told me that there was "ACTIVE" cancer cells in the fluid that was taken from the chest wall. He started me on a medicine call Tarceva. This medicine is suppose to attack the cancer cells of the lung and cause them to die (" Lord I Pray that you would cause this medicine to kill off the cancer cells")

In a weeks time I had accumulated more fluid and the breathing was not good. So I called the Nurse that works with my doctor. We did the same thing again only not as much fluid the second time around.

So for today, I am grateful to my Lord & Savior Jesus Christ, that HE is keeping me in his care. My strength is good, and when it is not (I take a nap).

So I am asking you to pray that this medicine I am on will kill the cancer cell, and that God would be in agreement to totally heal the cancer in my body. And above all I will honor & glorify him.

One last thing Dear Ones. I am living with cancer. God has been so gracious to me.
I tell every one that I am not sick, however! I AM LIVING WITH A RATHER SERIOUS HEALTH SITUATION". So let's go to Ps. 121 and see where our help comes from. Let's tell the world who our help comes from. "My help comes from the Lord."

So for now I will close. I will keep you up to date as new things develop.

Loving each and every one of you with the Love of Jesus.
