Oraletta's Adventure

Being a member of the Family of God, which is both local and global; I would like to share specific issues about the adventure The Lord and I are on dealing with lung cancer. I want to do this so that those who are praying for me will be better informed.

Beginning of 2007 Update

Hello Everyone!
January has really gone by quickly. I have really been busy and I suppose that is a good thing. If you remember from Dec. I received a call from one of my doctors saying the cancerous nodule was no longer present in my lungs. That was really good news before Christmas.
However, my lungs were in worst shape from the radiation treatments I had back in the Summer. So in Dec. I started taking large doses of Prednisone (60mg.). Then every two weeks I reduce the dose. Ex.: 60, 40, 30, 20 etc. Sunday I started 20mg. So far I am not coughing, and there is no pain in my side. We will see what happens once I am completely off the Prednisone. I have to go 10mg, then 5mg.

Now as for how I feel. I feel very good and I have lots of energy. The last couple of weeks I have been helping a friend of ours with his meals & keeping his kitchen clean. He is 81yrs. old. His wife died a fews years back. He has been ill and so I am helping him out. He did have a live in housekeeper, but she is no longer with him. He does have a lady that comes every two weeks and cleans the house. He does not want to go into " Assistant Living" just yet. So I will help him as best I can. He also needed lots of help with his medicines.

Also, my Sister who lives in University Hts. sold her home ( she lived there for 22yrs.). It is a rather large house with up & down. She has arthritis real bad, so she just brought a ranch style home. I have been helping her pack and get ready for moving. Moving is a lot of work. However, my strength has been very good.

So you see I am on the move. I just Praise God for His goodness to me. I am often reminded of Isa. 43: 1-3a. God has kept & protected me. I am His.

We know not what the future may bring, but for today (which is all we can handle) I am continuing to rejoice & trust in The Lord God Almighty. I Praise him for the Joy in my heart & the Peace of mind that he gives me. WHAT A MIGHTY GOD I SERVE.

My Dear Husband has a smile on his face & a bounce in his walk. He is so glad to see me doing well. He is also doing well himself health wise. So for now Dear Praying Partners I think it is time that I close.
We both love & appreciate each and everyone of you so much.

Loving You with the Love of the Lord Jesus,

Oraletta (for us both)
