Being a member of the Family of God, which is both local and global; I would like to share specific issues about the adventure The Lord and I are on dealing with lung cancer. I want to do this so that those who are praying for me will be better informed.

Oraletta's update

Hello Everyone!
I feel like I am on a "Non-Stop Roller Coaster". Busy, busy, busy, but it is good to be able to be busy, busy, busy.

I'm enjoying the "Hot Weather" (even if we do have to water the grass & flowers everyday). It is very hard to imagine winter when it is this dry & hot ( so let's not even try to think about winter).
I must say that my flowers are not doing as well this year as they did last year. OH Well!

Last weekend ( July 6-9th) Roosevelt & I went to WV (Carolina, WV), for my Community Reunion. In case there are those of you that never heard of a "Community Reunion". It is very popular there I was born and raised. Small communities invite all of those that ever lived there to come back home for a weekend of "fun & laughter".. I actually saw one of my old friends that I had not seen in 30 yrs. He is now married & living in Las Vegas.
I also saw a girl friend that I've only seen once since I left there in 1958. We have registration on Fri. and lots of HI's and Hug's, then on Sat. night we have a "Big Banquet & dance. On Sun. we all attend our local Church in our Community ( Shiloh Bapt. Church), and a picnic follows in the elementary Schl. yard. I attended this school years ago. We went from the first grade to the fourth grade in one room (the row you sat in determined the grade you were in). We had one teacher for that room. In the next room was grades 5th- 8th.
When we were unruly " OUR LOVING & CARING TEACHERS HAD PREMISSION TO SPANK US WITH HER PATTLE". We truly loved our teachers. Their names were Mrs. Mead & Mrs. Glover. Some that were able even went back home to their Memorial Services when they died.

I am going full speed ahead with Biblical Counseling. What a priviledge that God would use " such as me" to direct & encourage others that have hit a "Bump in the Road". Goes to show you that it is not the one with Flesh & Bones that matters, but the "Holy Spirit" that works in the heart of a person and set's them on the right track.

We will be attending the wedding of Elisa Collins ( Wes & Nancy Collins, missionaries, oldest daughter), to Yury Santana. The wedding will be in Raleigh, NC. Then we will visit friends in NC . Our former neighbors that live in China for the time are in NC, so we will visit them. Or should I say the wife is there. The husband is in China working hard. So we are looking forward to another wonderful 4 day weekend. Please pray for us safe travel.

Now about my health. Everything seems to be going okay. Energy level is up, no unusual aches or pains ( only the usual arthritis in knee's & sometimes hip), but that's the normal.
I will be having a mammagram on July 19th. so let's pray that " ALL IS WELL". I'll try to get out a short blog and let you all know the result's.
My hair is really growing back well. I am letting it stay gray ( Prov. 20: 29b). Oh yes! in case I did not tell you all, not only am I making cards, but now Iam learning to crochet. I am starting a " Hope Chest" for the two grandson's. Of course the first things to make are "baby" blankets. I can't believe I am doing all of this " crafty work".

Well Friends, until the next time May the Lord Richly Bless each and everyone of you.

In Him,
Oraletta ( Isa. 43: 1-3)
