Oraletta's Adventure

Being a member of the Family of God, which is both local and global; I would like to share specific issues about the adventure The Lord and I are on dealing with lung cancer. I want to do this so that those who are praying for me will be better informed.

New Things are happening in my life.

Hello Everyone,
I am really having a "Great Time" these summer months (what a difference a year can make). I went to the first "Hen Party" ever in my life. A friend of mine had been after me for about two months to go, so finally I went. OH Boy! did I have a wonderful time. I even learned how to make "Greeting Cards" of all kind. So now I am making my own cards. So if you get a card from me if will probably be "Homemade".
The next exciting thing is I am learning how to crochet & hopefully knit. I have crocheted in the past ( many years ago), so I thought it would be nice to start back. I think it is past time that I get started with my two Grandsons "Hope Chest". Each boy will get a blue & pink baby blanket from Grandma. Then we will go from there.

There is something else I would like for each of you to think about along with me. When I was told back in Feb. that I was in "Remission from cancer", most people would say to me "God is Good,", and I was always in agreement. Well I have been thinking about that lately. Yes He is Good, (I looked up the word good which means: valid; sound; acceptable; healthy; strong; dependable; reliable; adequate; and the list goes on and on). Then I said to myself, God is better than all of this. God is Sovereign. So I looked up Sovereign, which starts out saying: a term by which is expressed the "Supreme rulership of God." Now I like that Supreme Rulership much better than Good. However, I do realize what people are trying to say.

Another thing however that I thought about is this: God was just as "Good or Sovereign" on the day I was diagnosed with cancer as He was on the day the doctor said I was in remission. And guess what, He will be just as Good & Sovereign when I take my last breath here on earth. Yes our God is a Mighty God, He is the ONLY TRUE AND LIVING GOD. Yes He is Sovereign above all. (the book of Hebrews)

Well Dear Ones, with this I suppose I'll close. You pray for Roosevelt & Me, and we'll be praying for you.

Loving each of you with the Love of Jesus,
Your Friend, Oraletta

Just a brief hello to everyone

Hi to all of you,
Things are continuing to go well with me. Last week I did have an awful cold, but things are much better.
I've enjoyed the graduation of my oldest Grandson Thomas from CVCA High School. Now he is busy getting ready for Kent State College. He has a job for the summer, which is a good thing.
The youngest Grandson Calvin who is 13yrs. old has just finished school yesterday.

I Praise God for the "Precious Gift of Life" so that I can share their lives and enjoy them. This morning I decided to sit out on the deck and have my quietime. I remembered the message from Sunday about God's Metropark in Ps. 19. As I listened to the "talking of the leaves" and listened to the birds chirping it was awesome. We often overlook God's beautiful handwork, but once you have reached a certain age, and gone through the trials of health, YOU LEARN TO APPRECIATE.

As the song writer puts it: He is Worthy of worship, worthy of praise, worthy of honor and glory. Worthy of all the glad songs we can sing, worthy of all of the off-'rings we bring---------

I Love You All,

Oraletta
